Hall effect used to be used on older cars with a distributor, like hall effect crankshaft sensors

Could you tell me where I would find the sensor on a C20XE (dis-pac)?

Hall-Effect sensors to sense crankshaft and camshaft speed and position, the function of a Hall sensor is based on the physical principle of the Hall effect named after its discoverer E. H. Hall: It means that a voltage is generated transversely to the current flow direction in an electric conductor (the Hall voltage), if a magnetic field is applied perpendicularly to the conductor

on the older models with a distributor it would be located in the dizzy housing, have you got a pick of a C20XE DIS pack version?

Yep it will surely be in that box on the camshaft, think a new BOSCH HES is around £30, why do you need to locate it?

Need to find it because my engine got a "small" puddles worth of water into it, and it came up on the fault code reading.
