Best place to look for advise?

One of the lads here just bought a mk3 capri with a 1.6 ohc al' metric engine and hes looking to me with advise.

Inlet, twin carbs (VVT is rubbish), and cam?

yes, plenty of power to be had from them if you have plenty of money. we are doing a capri with the cosworth 24 valve engine for a customer, its having some nice bits + aftermarket management.

he ditched the pinto idea after seeing the gains vs cost.

I think 45s are actually better for the 2.0 all round

but your right, a 2.0 would be a better starting point tbh

My dad's got a Pinto in his Escort MK4.

Its now a 2.1, forged pistons, bit of headwork, twin 45's, kent cam, custom exhaust and some other little bits. Made 162BHP when set up on the rolling road. Does sound good when on the move

What power do you think the 1.6 would make with 2x 40s and a 4 branch + system?
