14.4V isnt it?

My Ibiza doesnt get that far - is there something wrong with it?

between 12.5 and 14.5 is normal i think if your worried switch everything in the car on and then check even then it shouldnt drop any lower than 12.5

When I turn the wheel with the lights/AC on, I can manage sub 12

Turning the wheel uses loads, if it looks ok just idling it's fine.

should be seeing 13.8V up to 14.4V depending on how much you have turned on, If it doesnt reach that by 1500rpm then Id say there is a problem somewhere

If he has got the power steering near full lock it will drop right down, I don't know why you would measure voltage while turning the wheel unless you suspected a problem though

I have some dimming light problems as well...

Would a dodgy batt/alternator have any effect on fuel economy?

That is nothing. You want to try a 12v, with EPS, heated screen, mirrors and lights on. Getting out of a layby parking space is not fun.
