Why the hell is it £130 for a credit check before you can rent somewhere?! Seems fuckin harsh
Is there any way around it? My brother isn't the most 'flush' people and can just about make the £500 deposit and month in advance, as well as buying furniture. Just seems like a needless amount of money to have to pay out.

It seems like that's the general thing with all the agents? I thought it was common? Another place wanted £140
Surely credit checks are cheap?

So, is that like a "one off"? i.e. If you did 6months in a property with the agent, you could then move to another property without the need for another check?
Also, can you take your credit check to other agents?

inidvidual credit check costs £14.95 through experian.
www.experian.co.uk
I would present the agency with that and save the stupid charge they try to impose.

Forgot to add, once bought, you can view it online and print a copy/s for up to 30 days after.
You could even give the agency your password and login to see it for themselves online.

Well...it's for my brother, but I'll tell him to give it a try. Personally, I can see them pocketing a bit of that money because they're cheeky cunts, so they'd probs say no
