Following on from i need a new CAT to pass my emissions for MOT i have got hold of this.
A brand new CAT for a 1.4 sport
Now how hard is it to fit, a few bolts? or should i just ask the garage to do it?
Also with this and praps some CAT cleaning additive will the chances of it passing on emissions be improved????
Also does that look about the right size or too long?
cheers

erm should be a tiny issue, if its too long as it would need chopping a tad and that would be a real mission

the standard sport down pipe has 2 pipes joining to 1 under the engine where theres the flange the cat bolts onto. the one you have looks like its for an 8v

only thing you can do is chop the actual cat part out and bodge it in somehow. or buy one that fits

Just checked on a website with some of the reff no.s which are on a sticker on the cat and it is infact for a 1.2
So will a place like powerflow be able to make it fit and if so will it affect emissions like is it weaker than the 1.4 cat or shall i just tryyyy and get money back

any exhaust place should be able to chop your exhaust and weld just the cat in. all the systems are the same bore apart from the 12vs so it will be fine

That's a shame about the cat, see if a local garage can make it fit..p.s that carpet is a brief

If it's easy enough to take back then I'd do that, or ebay it and buy another. I'd just cut and weld it if you really need to. I did that at first after changing engine (1.2 8v cat on 16v).
Where did you get it? There's no reason why they shouldn't take it back??
Just seems a shame to have to make something fit when they it's their poor advice that you've ended up with the wrong one!

Hmmmm can't answer that man, maybe your local exhaust place could tell you before they start to chop it up and fit it

The actual cat section will probably be the same, so should be ok for emissions...
Better off with the correct one though if it's easy enough to take back for a refund.
