Hi guys how do you get fault codes up on the little info screen on my corsa b it's 1.6 16v and has developed a lumpy tick over replaced iac valve but still the same and engine management light is still on, drives fine just seems a bit choked up!

On the fusebox under your knees there is a plug for a diagnosic tool.

Left hand row of pins. Count from bottom to top 5 and 6 holes. Bridge those 2 with a paperclip and turn ignition on.

The watch the EML flash. It will flash.....pause......flash , flash

This means "12" meaning "diagnoic starting"

Code 12 will happen 3 times, then it moves through the other codes.

1405,1405,1405 then 0505,0505,0505 does anybody know what these are? cheers

1405 Exhaust Gas Re-circulation (EGR) valve

neither autodata or my diagnostic equipment has a listing for 0505

ok found out EGR valve knackered and idle stepper but replaced idle stepper other week so just need to replace EGR valve now cheers Dave A

check the wiring first, also check engine earths and clean the valve

code doesnt mean valve is faulty.
