Hi all. i'm not sure if it is the gearbox but i will explain what my car is doing then hopefully someone will know whats wrong with it.
I was driving my car as usuall then after going round a bend it will rev and just go nowhere, its in gear with the clutch fully out. tried reverse and went through the gears and still nowhere? so i pushed it home and then when it was on my drive i thought i'd just try it and it drives fine, foward and reverse then took it out again and not far down the road it happend again
I've had problems with driveshafts before and it feels like that, if you imagine one driveshaft popping out it will go nowhere yes? but it works now and it is sat on my drive working perfectly i just don't dare take it out as i'l prob end up pushing it back again.
I do need to change one ball joint on the car as it has play in it but i would't have thought this would cause problems with my drive shaft? could it be something internally in the gerabox?
any help would be great

if at times it drives perfectly....I can't see it being a gearbox fault
sounds more like a driveshaft fault....... if there is a lot of play in the ball joint (that needs replacing), the drive shaft could of popped out of the gearbox
not much help i know but sounds strange to me

just picked up a pair of ball joints so gunna stick them on and see how it is. hopefully she will be fixed
