So im 99% sure the idle valve has gone on my 1.0l 12v gls.

Firstly It seems that the idle valve is a sealed unit so is there any way of cleaning it to fix it or would i need to replace the whole thing ?

Secondly to remove the valve It looks like i need to remove the black thing at the top of the engine that the air feed connects to (i tried for ages to remember what this is called but work has left me brain dead

) but the screws are stuck solid, whats the best way to loosen these off and remove them ?

Just try with allen keys/ spanners on the bolts holding the icv in took me a while to get mine out and it is very fiddly but can be done without having to remove anything else
