Hi,
Anyone knows what servo and master cylinder should be used when a 288mm discs and calipers are fitted to a corsaB? I got to know that a new servo and master cylinder has to be fitted since a bigger caliper is fitted.
When i fitted everything i found out that the pedal is very spongy and without any brakes which is indeed very soft.

mondeo 2L 16v mc and servo will fit with small modifications. 25.4mm so should see big gains

Unusual that...
I know a few people who've had 2.0 callipers and havent had any problems stopping on their nose wit the standard servo. I even know some one with the veccy V6 brakes running a standard servo!
I'm assuming you bled the system and everything?

im runnig standard servo on 288mm and they stop mint, i bit spongyer than standard brakes, but this works to my advantage as you can feel when its gona lock up easier

standard master cylinder is rubbish once you have upgraded calipers, its pedal travel city... which mathematically it has to be I lived with it for about a year but have ended up taking drastic measures to solve the problem.

I want to know this too... I have a 288mm brake kit to install but no nem nc. Really dont know what to do with the rear drums and abs... Probably i will took the abs out, put nem brake lines and test some mcs. Or get one and adjust with a bypass valve.

i dont really see why you need a new servo. ive had 288 on both my corsa and bled up properly they are fine and i dont think there is much travel at all.

standard servo on my 288 lot with braided lines, i definitly agree with Torsa G too. if theres a nice easy way of getting a slightly better pedal then id do it, but if not then id quite happily leave mine as it is. 288 setup, standard servo, braided lines, 5.1 fluid, bled uber good.

Why is 5.1 bad? It supersedes Dot 4?

You can either:
A Live with the travel (which i hated)
B Find another M/C that can be modified to fit
C Wind the bar on a bit so it takes up the first bit of movement and perhaps fit some non return valves down near the front calipers
D Do it properly fit a pedal box and new lines

Apparently a 2.0 (non-abs) Mk3 cavalier 22.2mm master cylinder is a direct replacement.. I've not tried this myself, as anyone had an expeirenec?

I saw one with mondeo master cylinder you need to bend brake pipes going into master cylinder and a remote brake fluid reservoir ,did not like it so much !

I've got a corsa sport with a standard M/C with V6 calipers.
The pedal's a bit soft but I've got braided hoses to go on. They've never not stopped me when I've wanted to anyway.

after playing with the mondeo setup i dont think its much good. the pedal travels quite alot before stopping but feels solid when the brakes come on. its abit all or nothing braking though. tbh ile be going back to stock setup at some point
