I think im going to go out and have a play with my camera, but as i have already found out today it has so many possibitys and is completely different to what i am used to.

So, Canon EOS 400d : Daylight shots of random people/buldings
What basic settings should i be looking for to use and tune around?

F5.6 / ISO100-200 ? Nice deep depth of feild on people and open shots on buildings

well ya got to think about what your shooting? lower F-stop means a more less focused image. where as a bigger F-stop means more of the photo will be in focus.

The lower your ISO the less grainy your images will be.

It all really depends on the lighting, use your built in light meter to see whats required.

read up on some terms etc.

If you can't use all the settings just stick it on automatic until you learn.

Or use Tv, thats what mines is always on, very few times you need it to be full manual.

i didnt get chance to go out today and the weather is poor now.

I have been playing about and do understand the settings and yes the manual is very good.

I need a full day pissing about with the settings and then just ook at the results. I would even be happy with 1 picture out of the full 500+ pictures i could take.
