Basically my laptop's CD drive has stopped working and before I get it repaired I DESPERATELY need to upload some pics that I intend to use for eBay selling.

If I buy a USB memory card reader will I have to install it's software using a CD, or are they just simply 'plug in and play' ?

Any help will be great.
