I was in a 1.4 sport last night at the local drag strip and raced against a 1.6 sport.

Not all that noticable off the line (although the 1.6 is abviously in front) but once your getting close to 4 th gear then you see the difference lol

Of course thses things could have been down to driver etc

Think theres just less than 20bhp between them.

14bhp is big difference, but won't blow your socks off. Its the extra torque that you will feel

Exactly.I mean its pretty obvious that theres gonne be a noticable difference.It wont be like going from a 1.0 to a 2.0 tho so dont expect to be pinned to ur seat.

Total Vauxhall figures - 1.4 = 88bhp, 92lb/ft, 0-60 is 10.5 and 112mph

1.6 = 104bhp, 109lb/ft, 0-60 is 9.5 and 119mph

After owning both, i cant really tell much aof a difference. I raced my mate at York Raceway, for the 1/4 mile. He had a 1.6 Sport with air filter and backbox. I had 1.4 Sport with air filter and backbox and de-cat, he run a 17.1, i run a 17.9. So not loads of difference.
