wouldnt touch it with a barge poll, dont get me wrong its very nice but because i own a mk3, as soon as someone states about arches and rust i wouldnt go near it.

once they start to rust, the onyl way to get rid of it on a mk3 is to have full new rear arches and usually inner arches too as they rust inside out.
the cost of that with genuine arches just in parts sets you back over 1k then maybe another 1k to get them sorted.
im having this problem at the minute and wish i never ever bought my astra.

It would never cost £1000 to do the arches on a mk3 astra!!

I think you should shop around!!

The engine spec doesnt seem to match the picture - i.e. the turbo for one

mate, for genuine vauxhall rear inner and outer quarters(if you want to do it right) the parts alone cost over 1k! then you have the cost of getting all this fitted and done which isnt an easy job. A decnt bodyshop would around 1k for just doing the work and then probably more for the spraying.
