That is fairly cheap tbh. Now if you'd paid £120 that's a different matter .

Yip totally serious, I've had very few cheap power supplys fail in my time and none have taken anything else with them.
It was supposed to be quiet as well but it's not quiet when my system is water cooled with a couple of fans running at 5v.
Modular is a pain in the arse as well, much easier to deal with and hide normal psu cables.

How is modular a pain?. All the cables I needed were used with only 2 connectors being tucked away. These were part of the non modular section. I think it's a good idea.

Well first dedicated PSU I've bought always used the one with the case! Still annoying only lasted 8 months and didn't even smoke or anything entertaining just ceased to work!?

If it's only 8 months old then surely you can contact them and send it back. I would think it would have at least 12 months warranty?.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Before applying for an RMA / Returns number please ensure that the following points are covered:
Does the product have a direct manufacturer warranty? - Check Here.
New Items come with 12 months warranty from purchase date.
Clearance items come with a 30 day warranty
Please confirm the item(s) were purchased from Micro Direct?

They should have a record of the sale and opening might not make a difference as they don't always have a void sticker or know you have done so. Worth a try.
Depends on how much you want to spend and what rating you need/want?.
Thermaltake PSU are usually pretty good.

Enermax, OCZ, Seasonic are all good. That TT one cost less than my Enermax Liberty 400W.
Antec PSU's are good but their customer support is horrible.
