Okay so spent the past week working on my ill X12XE.

First up i done the timing chain gasket, then a water pump.

How my headgasket is fucked (Obviously cooked it when the timing chain gasket & water pump packed in)

I dunno wether to waste more time on the X12 or do i just rip it out and hang on a few extra weeks and get a 1.6 of sorts ?

One of my colleages at work is into his vauxhalls and informed me the X10 & X12's are the hardest to do a conversion on as the ECU is on the engine ?

No 'Put a C20XE in it comments please, i'm nearly 20 with 6 points and extremely irresponsible with the correct dosage of caffine/sugar & X12'ness.

Not sure if the ECU is on the engine, more in the engine bay.

Not much different to other conversions really.

Putting a 1.6 in means you have to register the car as modified, so insurance isn't going to be ideal.

Find another X12XE, will go straight in within reason.

I'd rather fix my current x12 than swap it for one which may cause similar problems later down line.

Insurance will be alright
