Hello, I took my top inlet of my engine yesterday to bling it up abit. and today went to put it back, and found that one of the pipes i pulled off was split.

The pipe is the RED circled thing and it plugs into the PINK thing which is bolted to the side of the inlet with a torx. The thing it plugs into has a small electric plug on it.
Does anybody know what this pipe does. I can blow and suck air down the pipe freely. If i follow the pipe it runs across the bulk head to the drivers side then i cant work out where it goes.
Reason i ask is im going on holiday in 2 days with a longish drive and dont wanna fuck anything up by not having it connected properly.
Sorry for the essay, chris

It's a vacuum pipe, can't remember which one it is but the car might not run right without it on, it'll idle wrong at least.

Ok cheers dude,
Ill just blue peter it with a bendy straw and some sellotape for the time being, maybe some PVA or a yogurt pot top.

Going from the Power box guide im guessing its connected to the: "Tank vent switch"
Tank? as in fule tank?
Or Lee mitchell says it goes to the carbon canister, to which iv never heard of. What is that? anything important? lol
Cheers guys

Yep, the vent valve you circled should have the pipe to the carbon cannister and a pipe going to the inlet manifold it is bolted to

It absorbs the petrol fumes from your tank, if it had an open pipe to let air in the tank as you used fuel then it would smell of fuel.
Then when your cruising it releases the fumes back into the inlet to be burnt so theyre not wasted.
thats how I understand it anyway
