As expected really, considering we havent had a No.2 all season, and the 1st team coach has just gone off to manage a Jap team. Sammy can fill both of those positions easily.

Best role for people like him, know what they're doing but can't make it as a manager.

Was he sucessful in his last stint at Liverpool?

afaik he did nothing with the youth team and reserves, and since they've went on to win youth cups and so forth.

Granted he helped bring through some decent players lke Gerard and Carragher, but I'm pretty sure there's better out there than him to be assistant manager at a club like Liverpool.

Not many coaches about with a better rep (in the actual football world I mean not between me and you or the press) so i'd say he'll do ok having another stint

Well firstly he'll be having nothing to do with the youth or reserve teams so makes little difference how well he did. Secondly in his last stint as No.2 we won 5 cups in one season (2001- UEFA, FA Cup, League Cup, Super Cup, Community Shield).

Well when you have a director who promises to invest in clubs and then declares himself bankrupt, does it matter who your no. 2 is?

Corinthians, Cruzeiro, he wrecked both clubs in 1998-2000, Texas Rangers fans aren't happy either.

His ideas towards Liverpool seem good, regards sponsors and marketing in Asia, maybe he just wasn't enthusiastic about previous teams.

The words that come out of his mouth are one thing, his actions so far are another.

I'd rather he not be here next season, and the chances are he wont be, but who knows!!
