East Anglia Region PVS Convoy 2008
I’ve nominated myself as the East Anglia Region’s PVS convoy coordinator after my experience with montly meets at Santa Pod convoys and following my successful convoy last year with South Central
As shown here
EA Region
SC region PVS convoy
I have posted a thread (here) to collected details, ideas, thoughts and comments for 2008's convoy but with little commitment as seems to be standard in EA
So to try and encourage interest i have firmed up details.
Due to the shape of the region I suggest having two routes which converge to meet, travelling as one from there on.
Route 1 Norwich>Thetford>Barton Mills**>Newmarket>Cambridge>Bedford>Podington
Route 2 Ipswich>Bury St Edmunds>Barton Mills**>Newmarket>Cambridge>Bedford>Podington
**Routes join here
bold type indicates an RV point, normal text indicates route direction
Route 1
Meet A - A47/A11 Services/car park off roundabout (Norwich)

Depart 0335
Meet 3B - Service station (Barton Mills) A11,A1065, 1101 roundabout
Arrive 0420
Depart 0430
Meet C - Tesco (Milton, Cambridge) A14 J33
Photo
Arrive 0455
Depart 0505
Meet D – Bedford BP Station A6/A421 junction
Photo
Post Code:A6/A421 interchange junction MK42 9BF
Arrive 0615
Depart 0625
***Meet with South Central Region
Meet E – Santa Pod
Arrive 0700
Route 2
Meet 1 - Ipswich ASDA (A14)
photo
Depart 0320
Meet 2 - Bury St Edmunds J43 (superstore)
Arrive 0350
Depart 0400
Meet 3B - Service station (Barton Mills) A11,A1065, 1101 roundabout
Arrive 0420
Depart 0430
from Meet 3/B the convoy is as one as follows the route as shown below and detailed above in Meet B to E
These timings based on a 0700 []gate opening, each RV point has a 10min worked in delay to allow for any late arrival & welcoming people to the convoy
Note that Meet D is at Bedford services, where a BP is located.
It was used last year by the SC Conovy as a toilet and refreshment stop and is well worth remembering before arrival on site with inflated prices
It is also the point where EA and SC region convoys meet and continue on to Santa Pod
Note that the route map below shows the two different routes branching to meet at Meet 2B
Route 1 shown in Red
Route 2 shown in Blue
(ignore the orange line)
Anyone is free to join at any RV meet point - please show your interest here so people know their are going to be others at the meet point along the way
SC will be at Bedford (meet D) and will wait for you if anyone is expected
post your name, and point you will join the convoy

so be it, but this convoy is set up as a bit of fun, to allow people to meet others in the region, some company on the journey, particulary so early and to unknown places to arrive at Santa Pod on time....
