I went to look at a family friends PC today as she was having some problems with it.
Old tired out PC + AOL (various versions including dialup) + Spyware = Frustration
I got it so the internet would work again but I have suggested a new computer, new ISP and router.
I dont know how people can click every popup they see on the internet, it shocks me

Would a cheaper option for them not to be to reformat the HDD? Or is it some gay Packard Bell without the OS install CD etc?!

Im pretty sure I will be doing that in the near future. Its a Dell so I should imagine that its going to be easy enough to get a CD for. Worst case will just be a new install of XP.
Will deffinatly get them to get rid of AOL and get a decent router like a netgear though
