I wanna lens with a nice zoom. Would have loved one for taking photos of the strip at the Pod but obviously not gonna get it in time!
It's for a EOS 400D.

That's what I'm wanting to know, people have said Sigma are alright, I just don't wanna spend £900 on an official Canon one

well a mate has a sigma on his canon 30d body and the results from it are very good
you will probably find that the expensive one you looked at has some sort of image stabilisation in the lens

It'll be better, I'm not doubting that, but I'm willing to save £800 for slight loss in the picture quality.

Pretty good dude and good price. All my pics are with a tamron 70-300 f.4-5.6, youll only get 5.6 aperture at 300mm, in bad light you will need to compensate with the ISO which you might notice your pictures will start to get grainy. This is more evident in my rallying photos from last weekend. Im now looking into a 70-200mm f/2.8, thats 500 quid though so quite a bit more. It definately does the job though mate.

Oh right cool.
Might go for that then. There seem to be some very cheap lenses on there, such as Macro lenses for £30?
I need to learn all this Aperture and ISO stuff more

I got this tamron lense with my 400d kit from jessops. Also has a macro mode on which has come in handy

Oh dear god, that's almost as much as my car
Think I'll stick with the Tamron 70 - 300mm.
