Have been playing around with shares for a little while now. 
Was all good fun last year when you could make easy money on them. Not so good this time though. I paid £1.90 for BBG shares a while ago. Not worth much now ha.  I'm losing out with HBOS shares too.
Anyone else do sharedealing? Will probably have to sit on what i've got for quite a while yet.

Now really isnt the best time tio be buying shares
Altho as an aside, Vodafone Group PLC shares are doign well lately, we are seen as a safe bet regardless of current economic conditions and our prcie is rising, unlike most

I'd look at military contractors, especially those who supply abroad as opposed to solely UK based; thats a growing Buoyant market

Mitchell and Butlers that i used to work at, their shares were something like £2 a share when i started, up to £11 in a year, then with the smoking ban etc... they're about £2.50 again now
