What, you mean you're not using a wireless router?

Mobile broadband dongle? Won't work -- PS3 has no way to configure a dial-up connection (which is generally how the 3G dongles are configured in Windows). Same way you can't plug a USB ADSL modem in.
PS: Gaming would be crap over high-latency 3G anyway. Stick with ADSL or cable

You could just configure ICS on your laptop and create an ad-hoc wireless connection between laptop/PS3.
I don't understand why everyone is going the 3G broadband route. ADSL/cable are so much better if you're in a fixed location.
If I need internet access on the laptop somewhere else I'll plug it in to my phone...

OS System = Operating System System...
He means OS -- Operating System, such as Linux. YellowDog Linux works well with the PS3.
