Ok, so i was told a while ago that my thermostat was broke cos in the winter it wouldnt make me warm air. now its summer, this has turned into a bit of an over heating issue....
anyways, today i got stuck in traffic and things didnt end prettily. it made some bad noises, and then died. the aa came out, put a load of water in it, it started and didnt sound horrible, but it was pissing the water out. apparently the water pump is dead...
SO... how hard is it to change the termostate and water pump on a C20XE? I have some experience in oily things, not a lot, but some, and a couple of haynes manuals...
what kind of cost would i be looking at myself (parts) or at a garage? Im a poor student.

water pump's a bit more of a pain, mean's a cam belt change too, while your at it

Where did the water come from?
Get a second opinion from someone in the know. Roadside diagnosis from the AA saying apparently the water pump is gone doesn't sound promising.
Someone could say that about my current problem but it's looking like HG fail
