Absoloutly nothing apparently, i emailed sky asking them about it.
Thought you might have been able to transfer saved programes onto ure pc at 1st

you you can use a standalone dvd burner to copy your saved shows etc afaik

They're for whatever you want them for. I plug a PS3 dual controller charger into mine. It's very useful.
