anyone recommend any?
my dell computer is so slow and makes the most annoying ''humming'' noise ever. this gives me headaches so i've had enough of it.
i've looked at the dell inspiron laptops (£379) which seem decent for the money.
i had no clue about memory or GB'S GHZ'S or all the other terms. all i need it for is to hold some music and pictures and be able to use adobe photoshop on it and access the internet
i don't play games or anything on the computer so it's just needed for basic things.
anyone recommend any? sub £500 please.

to be honest ther all about the same sort of spec out there now, just want sumit that has duo core and 2gb ram and you will be fine, optional extra could be dedicated graphics.

Go to dell and spec an inspiron up with what you need, they are still some of the best deals imo.

Just got one from Dell for one of the shops that came to under £300 and is a half decent spec. Plus you know you'll have good customer support getting a Dell/Hp.

It was a Vostoro - not sure if you can buy them for non-business use as comes under their 'Office' section and not 'Home'.
Dont see why not though.

Wouldnt buy Acer for that price when you can get 10x the customer support with Dell/HP - which for that price will be a major factor over sepc.

Would do well to beat the spec of this

or this if you fancied better graphics, extra hard drive space and abit better battery life

I've got a Dell
As long as you don't get a Celeron processor it should do!

Yeh agree that the Inspirion 1525 looks better, but you wont be able to match the spec of the 2nd Acer for £449 from a Dell. Plus the Acer comes with a dedicated 8600 GS graphics card, wireless N and gigabit ethernet. But in general any of the ones mentioned will do you just fine
