DSLR Magazine have an offer on that gets you a free bag, one less thing to have to buy & the magazine is full of useful info

http://www.dslruser.co.uk/viewpage.php?page_id=10

A good book to help learn the basics & the theory behind photography is a book called Basic Photography by Michael Langford, I had it recommended to me by Ross & it's actually very good

Feel free to add useful tips into this thread, then we could maybe have it topped?

If thats the book I'm thinking of, its used as the basis of a lot of photography courses.

Michael Langford is a professor teaching photography IIRC.

Well worth having
