Growing fuel is not viable as a main source as we'd soon run out of space for it.

The problem with growing 'fuel' (oil seed rape) is that its being grown in the same place as wheat / barley w/e was being grown in. Farmers are all clocking on to it because they can make say £300 per ton of oil seed rape against £50 per ton of wheat (figures made up, GF works in agricultural office). The next problem is, now we arent growing our own crops we hav to import stuff and thats pushing food prices up

Why have electricity pumps at petrol stations? They'll be something along the lines of a 89p tax per watt.

For homes, wind energy will be the way forward.
For transport. No idea

I was under the assumption that wind turbines didn't produce that much energy compared to the demand we have now. Also they're only really effective when it's windy. The sheer power that the UK uses now, there would have to be tens of thousands of turbines to keep the national grid up. Read sig.

Steam power is the future, just you wait. Or woodgas power, VW clocked it in the 30s, it's about time someone suggested it again.

New platforms being comissioned in the North Sea have self contained renewable energy generation.
I see wind etc being used more. Oil/gas use will be slowly downsized & neuk introduced.
Public transport will turn to Hydrogen fuel cells, followed by private transport one the infrustructure to allow its use is put in place.
