anyone know how much of a strech i'll get with a 195/45 tyre on a 7 inch rim??

None at all

A 165 will give a little stretch a 145 will give uber stretch

195 - no stretch
175 - slight stretch
165 - good stretch
145 - ridiculous stretch

Urban myth/legend

For the past year I have frequented many forums looking at pics od stretch etc and yet I have never read about an incident that has been caused by a stretch tyre popping off a rim. even the drift boys run quite alot of stretch and their tyres never seem to pop off ...

btw 145 on a 7 here

this is what i want to know. how strong are they ive herd of them coming off when ragging it round bends. quite fancy some new wheels for mine but dont fancy popin a tyre off when it comes on boost

That is the problem, people are saying things they don't actually know about.

people have been running stretched tyres for years, back in america on their hot rods when there wasn't tyre available in widths to suit the rims, japanese drifters have done it for years etc etc

I wouldn't run mega stretch if your car has a high output though, but that is due to lack of side wall and that grip levels will be down.

I would happile run a 165 on a 7j rim on anycar
