Would look at Tesco's as there doing some decent deals right now. Had a decent fujitsu for around the £330 mark and a Dell for similar cash. Just bought a Dell from there (HERE), seems to be pretty good for typical web browsing, emails, music etc.
thats the computer i want, seems to be the same price on dells website too has it got the upgraded screen though?

Yeah it is, that's why we got it. Plus theres a Tescodirect voucher floating around the web for £15 quid off (you have to order online then go pick it up).
Otherwise if you know someone that works for Tescos then you can get 10% off, which is what i did.
They only do the one colour lid (black) though, but it's pretty good once you clean a lot of autostart programs and get rid of Mcafee which slows the system down a bit. Once the warranty is up XP will get installed which should be better

It isn't.
Also, what has the warranty got to do with installing xp?

because i want to leave it standard until then just incase the Dell goes tits up.
And as for Vista vs XP (i run both 64bit versions) and i have found that XP is faster (on a clean install).

Dell couldn't care less what OS you're running for warranty purposes.
The only time it would come up is if they were trying to troubleshoot something that was difficult and they noticed you didn't have the OS it shipped with, that would only be for BSOD's and the like and at a push.
