Bought some new Spax coilovers but the adjuster bolts are rubbing at certain heights. Could this be because I have Renault wheels on and the offset is off? Any help appreciated.

some of the older spax kit's were badly designed and the wheels rub on the adjuster.ive got 15" et49 vaux wheels on mine and i had to use 5mm spacers.

Do you mean the its the adjuster collers that are rubbing? If so I had that problem even with vaux wheels. 5mm spacers solved it but then they rubbed on the arches
I went back to a fixed rate kit in the end

Yes thats right. I dont have spacers on the Clio wheels and they et45 I believe. Does that mean Vauxhall wheels would be 4mm further from the hub or closer?

So if Vauxhall wheels are et49 they should give me 4mm more clearance?

Assuming they were the same width wheel they would give 4mm less clearance.
Try shorter springs and wind the platform up.

I believe the Clio wheels to be et38 and 7J. If I go for Cesaro's I should have around 2mm more clearance I think.

Yeh got them off Dave A and he reckons even with a 7J wheels there's still clearance so must be down to the offset.
