im taking my corsa even lower but the only things that are stopping me is the middle silcener and the backbox..

i can get a smaller backbox, but is it ok to remove the big middle silencer (one before the rear beam)

its a 1.0 12v..

thanks in advance

mine has a remus straight through with a maxnex backbox, it's only a 1.2 16v but sounds pretty good, people are always saying it doesn't sound like a 1.2. I find when it's cold it is quite raspy but when warm the rasp seems to go away.

I've had mine removed on my 1.0 12v and its fine no loss in power or anything. Sounds very nice too but is a little raspy until its warmed up a bit

Here's a vid to give you an idea of the sound

what backbox you got on yours?

sounds a little loud for me, thinking about having the silencer removed and buying a standard backbox (as they sit quite high)

kool

how much did you pay to have the silencer removed? did you have it removed and welded? or is it just a pipe which is joined each side, so you can have it fitted back on if need be?

Backbox - under the vauxhall section on the link below

Was a bit hard to fit because i done it myself. But an exhaust place should have no problems getting it on

is the remus centre section a complete replacement? no welding etc, just undo the standard section and bolt that on?

nice one

going to get me one of those soon then..

just worried about it being to loud, at the moment with the 6x4 sportex backbox ive got, you can hear the engine over the exhaust on idle, and its not loud at all...

i just want to hear the exhaust over the engine, but only just..

not sure how to go about this though, you think a remus centre section and a magnex backbox will be ok? or a standard backbox?

if i went for a standard backbox, do you think it will sit high enough and wont scrape? also do you think the remus centre and standard backbox will sound subtle?

i put a standard back box on my 1.4 sri 8v with a remus centre section. i personally quite liked it cus it sounded pretty much standard, but then if you ever gave it the beans it made a bit more noise lol.
