he did have a shocker yesterday, at fault for 2 goals. but he had a near perfect season last year, again its the more famous names picked because thats who the foreigner has heard of

Lescott did well last year because he got goals, but was played as a LB a lot too iirc. Defensively, I'm not so sure.

I'd say every centre half in that squad is better than Lescott, with maybe the exception of Upson.

Providing Woodgate was fit and on form I'd have him over Lescott any day. Debatable whos the better out of Upson and Lescott though.

Downing had an outstanding season last year and has started this season in the same fashion.

Fabio Capello named him as a striker, Wenger has nothing to do with the England set up.
