set youre torque wrench too 110nm and see if they click straight away, then try 130nm and keep going up till its not clicking straight away and then you know whats its torqued up to and check the normal wheel nuts, if they are stupidly high dont take youre torque wrench down there ask the service manager to come out and see what the wheels are torqued up to and if its over 150nm ask him what hes going to do about it, reality its seriously dangerious it may cause the bolts to stretch

We've done that already - torque wrench goes up to 200nm and was still clicking immediately at that, so came to the conclusion that they are at least double the tightness they should be!

yea i would go straight down there and ask them to check how tight the wheels are, dont take youre torque wrench or let him know you have tried taking them off, go in ther calm and ask them to do it, then when it clicks to 200nm straight away just go arent they meant to be 110nm according to the service sheet, so why are they 200nm + ask to see a copy of the job card to see what they have wrote up, and just see what hes going to do, i think you probley know the damage it can do to the bolts and threads of the hub

Yeh am more than aware of what it can bugger up so am less than impressed. Just got to hope I don't get a puncture 2m otherwise I'll be ringing for recovery!!!

yea and get towed straight to vauxhall, if they refuse to do anything say you are going to contact the nesaccary (sp) people and will be taking action further. Really they should change all youre wheels nuts and locking nuts and hubs, make sure they dont tap and die a new thread in them its just as bad really

They fucked my alarm up when doing a clutch change by d/c the battery (alarm would lock me in when i started the car). when i asked them to sort it (before it even left the car park they said it would be £25 to plug it in and what ever ontop to fix it. I went fucking ape at the 'manager' and he denied the battery gets disconected during a clutch change so i said he would be hearing from his Headoffice. As i walked out one of the mechanics came runnning out and apologised and stated that the battery was d/c whilst the job was done as its standard procedure. He then agreed to take alook the next day for free, in the end i started the car a few times and it started doing it less so i removed the fuse and battery for a bit, linked it back up and it was fine. Now i can safely say i will never take my car to Vauxhall again bunch of morrons (apart from the mechanic) as they dont give a toss and customer servce is appauling.
Goodluck with them tho

Haven't read the thread Rich, but in case you've had no luck, you should be able to deal with it yourself.
You'll be able to get a removal kit for about forty odd quid (possibly less) from any tool man worth his salt.
You will also need a copper and hide mallet, a breaker bar and possibly appropriate socket, a thin chisel or old screwdriver, a pair of long nose pliers and some patience and elbow grease.
You'll also need a new set of locking wheel nuts obviously.
Carefully remove the outer sleeve/s by splitting them with the chisel/screwdriver and persuade them out with the pliers.
Then pick the appropriate tool from the kit and with it lined up good and straight on the wheel nut, hammer the bejesus out of it with the copper side of the mallet till it's on the nut quite firmly.
Start turning the tool anti clockwise with the breaker bar. If it starts to slip, hammer it on some more.
The tool has a reverse thread inside which cuts onto the locking nut. Once the nut is undone you'll need to clamp it in a vise in order to remove the tool from it (clockwise of course).

The car is now at Vauxhall again after it's Trax outing - it's now in for the night after VX had 2 of their "technicians" spend the entire day on my car to remove.... 2 of the locking nuts 
Guess they'll do the other 2 tomorrow
New locking nut set for me F.O.C it would appear finally
Will have to see how damaged the wheels are afterwards though - a slight mark and I'll be kicking off again...

tbh i would of demanded new hubs and wheel bolts as well what did you get them to do to get them to remove them for free

When they have it in for that long it usually means they are doing it when they have no other jobs, i would have given them 3 hrs to do it full stop.

I'm having a new SRi alloy out of them now too
They have had to get a "specialist" in to remove the other 2 - of which they had to cut my alloy off to remove one of them!!!
Should be getting it back today with a bit of luck.

same sort of thing happened to my locking nuts just went to local garage he just welded normal nuts to lockers then took them off and gave me new nuts to replace them cost me £10 lol.

most wheels you can measure the discs with a micrometer with out removing the wheels,
same as our customers try to say we lost thier lockinging wheel bolts when we doen thier clutch and the technitian hasnt even removed the wheels

you can get a tool that you hammer onto the nut for about 100 quid and just air gun it off.
its like an impact driver for a screw
