I'm not the biggest of football fans but since Stoke have gone up into the premiership, I've been watching their progress.
Seeing a few comments on 606 etc, whats your opinion of Rory Delap's throw ins, which clearly helped Stoke score their two goals yesterday against Everton.

All about playing to your strengths, spot on, only wish they managed to hold on for the draw

It's a unique skill, and IMO there's nothing wrong with it. Fair play to Stoke for using it.

Dave Challinor formerly of tranmere was a bit of a specialist at this too
He holds the record for longest throw, he did it infront of a crowd locally at a 'show' iirc over some cars or something

Agree with the previous comments, it's not nice to watch, but it does the job for them, so fair play, to be honest i don't see how other teams struggle to deal with it so much, you know exactly whats gonna happen, you should prepare for it during the week.

.... its the same as a free kick or corner, dead ball specialists doesnt always mean you can take a free kick

Don't be silly Russ That would be like saying, teams know exactly what Fernando Torres is going to do, so they always stop him from sco..... hold on

Its not that easy to defend if the guy on the other end is strong and good and jumping etc, if they are in the right position first especially.

I can take a mean throw in (not as far as Delap but still pretty impressive) and take all ours on a Sunday from anywhere near the other teams penalty area. Scored 2 goals from them on Sunday so they are deffinatly a good source of attack
