Ok just gotten home and will probably be going back to work in an hour or 2
Had to move the server to another room today, 4 rolled round and i kicked everyone off the network. Disconnected the old connections in the rack, and moved it all round.
Reconnected it all back up, everything works bar our DC and FS (same server) Currently running a team connection...however I haven't a clue how team connections work Also, the link between switch to the panel (other side of the building) is using a dual personality socket at the other end.
We had the dc connecting (using the team of 2 cables) to the network, which once followed back also connected to dual personality switches.
Now pretty much i'm fucked, network has to be working come 8.30....s0 7 hours.
The 2 adaptors are from an Intel (r) Pro/1000 PT Quad Port Server adaptor. Then the 2 on board are not being used, and the other 2 on the adaptor arent being used.
We have 3 servers and i can ping the other 2 from any machine in the building, i can ping the router and the main switch however i don't have access to the outside world.
I have tried connecting the server to the switch direct and it cant ping the switch, i have also tried connecting it through existing infrastructure and it cant ping or be pinged by anything. And its just the one server that is fucked up !
Any ideas, any one know how to use Team connections ? In general.....help !

dual personalities? what the fuck are you on about, are you on about dual nics acting as one for load balancing/redundancy?
depending on how detailed your network is, the new switch ports might need additional configuration?

I understood all of that except the daul personalities bit...
It does sound like to me your over complicating a problem.
Calm it all down, start at one end use single connections to switches etc?
Sounds to me like there is a loop is one machine won't ping out or anything?

HoSo is the brand, never heard or seen one in my life. Internet says nothing, and doesnt know what a dual personality port is either.
