Difference was massive @ the time lol...

But I never ever clean me car (hate it, menial job) but when I do, it comes up ok and it covers up some dodgy buffer marks but they're only really on the bonnet... annoying though when you pay 50 sheets out

At least before, it was pink without buffer marks, not pink with 'em

Here it is on the day I had it done:

Before:

After:

Well worth it on a red car. If mine was clean I'd probably not wanna sell it all the time.

If your spending £50 and burning the paint, then they obviously arent that experienced.

To mop an entire car properly it takes about 4 hours (even a corsa, especially if your doing paintwork correction etc). Also add in cost of products used and thats before you add in their personal charge.

I agree with most on here, that you can spend less money and do it yourself, with no damage to the car.

Clay Bar, Tcut/High cut polish, wax and sealant will make any red car stand out.

I did that to this corsa which came out fairly well (as it has been parked in the sun and not properly cleaned or waxed for 10 years !):

Were not talking about paint correction or detailing here though, were talking about a simple buff with compound to bring the paint back.

If you take it to a valeter like myself or a bodyshop and ask for a mop. It will be a hit with G3 compound on a compound pad then a polish and maybe a wax. Should take 2 hours max.

The reason it will go pink again and leave trails is because when red paint is oxidised the paint is basically fucked. it needs to be looked after and polished at least every two weeks for it to stay red.

So mopping's basically the same as machine polishing?

Should cost about £80 thought.

Make sure you trust the person doing it though. A bodyshop will probably just let any chimp loose on your car. Was my problem, and cost enough to have it corrected by somebody in the know
