Started the car up last night and my stereo lights flickerd and went off, stereo, rev counter, clock, things like that stopped working, checked the fuses board this morning and found fuse 17 had blown, what is fuse 17?

bare wire causing a short. have you fitted after market stereo? that might be shorting out

yeah, fitted a stereo about 6months ago, possibly something come loose at the back maybe?

Perhaps the amperage was upgraded because it had previously blown. Anything on that circuit could be suspect, you could start by disconnecting the radio for a bit and see if that cures it. If not, the other bits.
