hey does anybody know if a 1.6 16v from an astra mk3 will drop into a corsa
mates got a corsa b 1.0 and sick of how slow it is..
do you know if it will go in straight swap..
if not what will be needed.. mounts etc?
the engine is complete engine gearbox altenator loom etc??
any help be great thanks

main thing we need to know is if it needs new mounts making and any mods to gearbox etccc??

The 1.6 out of a mk3 astra is a X16XEL isn't it? Just an X16XE (The 1.6 sport engine) with a different inlet?

If I'm right, different mounts, shafts and hubs?

XEL is the same engine as the XE. Inlets different, don't think the cams are, but it only produces 100bhp, but 5lb ft more torque than the XE.

It will have a hydrolic gearbox, so u'll need a different one.

tbh, theres enough X16XE's about im sure, would be easier to just go for the right engine.
