i live in a small village and i only use one garage i trust tbh. just rang them for a quote on handbrake cable being replaced and rear wheel bearing replaced. i have the parts waiting to be fitted they quoted me £110+vat tbh i think thats abit steap just wondering if anyone else thinks its a average price?

kwik fit once supplied and replaced my hbcables and shoes for £80

i had a feeling the quote was too high. my brothe knws a bloke that can do it cash in hand wich meens no receipt

too steep.

i once had all brakes taken apart/cleaned/put together for 50 pounds. included handbrake too.

yes, i stated i have the hanbrake cable and rear wheel bearing,i have been told the hanbrake cable is a bitch of a job. thats why i rang my garage and thought kill two birds with one stone lol

i do no a little but i dont think i would have a go at it myself without a ramp, the wheel bearing me and a mate could do.

Why do you need a receipt? If he can do it cheaper then get it done

at a guess you will only be changing the rear sections of the handbrake cable (the two bits that fork off to each rear wheel above the rear axle)
as these are the bits that normally wear on the corsa

and you have to have the rear drums in bits any way so the bearing can be done at the same time...

its an easy job mate even for people with little knowledge

you do the bearing at the same time as one side of handbrake cable so 40 mins max and the other side of cable 25 mins max give extra 15 mins for attaching at the front and putting the wheels back on so no more than 1.5 hours complete start to finish
