The button with the 4 arrows on it, right hand side big button just above 'C'.
I press it and the screen flashes like its going to do something (like it used to, accessed some sort of extra gallery thing) and then just goes back to Active Standy screen. How do I fix it without factory reset?

fire the nokia suite up and flash it with latest software.Thatll sort it out mate.

Problem is when I do that I lose all my apps, my contacts disappear and everything goes back to factory (I found that out a couple of weeks ago). I think I have the newest firmware already, only updated as said, 2 weeks ago?

use the "back up data" option but set it to back up mass memory and phone memory.Then flash the firmware and restore the data.Itll be a software problem mate.
