deans old motor,
vey tidy car with some very trick bits

vent:at least it works tbh would have gone with something like dave A used though.

i like the vent, i normally disagree with them
the engine bay is presentable, i really like it.

tip: you can get black plastic coolant caps, the paint lets yours down a little

Does the vent not send a lot of rain down through the bonnet and over the bodies/loom??

there is very very little chance of there ever beeing enough water going in to effect stuff like that

same with old scooby scoops,the air flow just passes over the vent as the air velocity increases,and especially as that one inst very tall,best kinda vents are nascar inspired eg clio 16v

My old motor!!

no regrets from selling it really! a 350+bhp ibiza cupra is more my thing! :-)
dont like that vent at all....i thought about doing this when i had it, a quick photoshop later and decided against it!!!!

hope ya get it sorted and driving sweet, i just lost interest! :-(

UPDATE New box, brakes fitted.

Got my self an F16 box so gave it a good clean


M-Tech shortshift kit


Then the removal began

Few bolts later

And the f18 was bleading on the floor


Found out why i wouldn't go in to gear

Also there was wood wedged in the rear mount
and the linkage was just shocking

Painted the new box and in it went



Then it was time to swap the brakes for someting a little smaller as had to run a 10mm spacer so that the v6 288mm ones would fit under.


Went for a set of 256mm 16v ones
