well i finally went and got my new cam, a Nikon D60, anyone got any hints or tips bout taking pics with this?

read the manual and get out and about

try and get some version of photoshop too

well im gonna go a drive tomorrow to a local waterfall and wanna know how to get some really good shots of the water and things? as in how to change shutter speed settings and so on?

The "silky" waterfall pictures are done with a long exposure i believe.

That's about the extent of my knowledge really.

I'm hoping to get a D60 this week, and have a play on my week off next week, so i'll keep an eye on this thread as well

Silky water requires a tripod, remote (or self timer) and a long shutter speed. 1/2 second is long enough for fast flowing water and it about the best you'll get in daylight without Neutral Density filters.
