I'll look on SIDC/Scoobynet soon enough but can anyone list the 'must haves' for a classic STi on track?

Is it prone to oil surge? Is a baffled sump a must have?
Stock TMIC and heat soak - how bad on track with about 400bhp?
Wheels - Will 9" wide 17's fit with minal arch bashing?

anything anyone else can add?

Tbh with about 400bhp, I'd be swapping the TMIC for a FMIC. Especially as it'll be driven HARD. 17's go on without an issue iirc, but 9's... Not too sure on that!

aye, I know 17's are fine.... its the FATness i'm worried about.

8.5" is ok too I suppose... just want to make use of old tyres/spares etc.

Fuck it.... I'll just buy one and suck it and see...

Use it on track with a few things done to see what really needs done (brakes, susp) - then cheap power hikes

Well I've seen a Classic go about with the same wheels that are on my dad's Bugeye and they are 8" wide... But if I'm being perfectly honest that helps FUCKALL and I'll just shut up

My uni just bought an '96 Impreza to turn into a race car. Can't remember the exact model though. It's got solid lifters and forged pistons as standard.
