Stan Collymore, Daily Mirror:

I was at Manchester United to witness their demolition of Stoke when Ronaldo was the star turn. But I was more excited about another generation of young players which suggests the future is bright at Old Trafford. Teenager Danny Welbeck, 17, came on and scored a 25-yard corker to show he is one for the future. While Darron Gibson, 21, and Manucho, 25, both also impressed as subs. With Rafael, Anderson and Nani also on the bench, it was an insight into what United are going to look like in four or five year's time. So, although all the talk is about Arsenal's youngsters in terms of the sexy football they play, it is United's who may end up picking up the prizes. The crucial difference is not in terms of individual talent but how they will develop. United have proved the importance of blooding young kids alongside established stars. Take Jonny Evans who played alongside the outstanding Nemanja Vidic at the back on Saturday. He will have learned not just from playing himself but from being next to the Serb stopper - and that's priceless. Arsenal's youngsters don't get that experience because there are not enough mature role models at The Emirates.

Thats some more bait to dangle

Neil Mellor once came on for us and scored a last minute wonder strike against Arsenal to win us the game at Anfield - he is still a fat POS though now playing for PNE.

Welbeck may well be a good player in the future, but people should keep the over-hype of youngsters after a few mins on the pitch for Arsenal fans.

Johnny Evans will be a quality centre half but Wiltshere, Gibbs and Ramsay will all be quality players as well.

Manucho is a 25 year old youngster? Well said Stan

Anderson and Nani may well be youngsters but they cost a bomb.

Pacheco is coming from the same pedigree as Fabregas - nicked after being a top rated Barca youngster.

Our others added together didnt cost a 10th of what either of either of the other two you mention.

Houson was meant to be the "next big thing" but he's hardly even played this season so he cant be that good.

Delph looks OK, although you've got to remember what standard he is playing at. He was totally marked out of the game on Saturday as well. We put a couple of hard (but fair tackles in on him) and then he didn't want to know. He's done OK, but I doubt he'll make it big in the Premier League. Just Leeds talking him up to get more money for him IMO.

Arsenal do have some outstanding young players, people seem to rave on about them way too much though

One example is the commentator in the carling cup game last week, saying there first goal was one of the best that will be scored by any team this season Granted it was a very good through ball, but wtf

I think collyflower is a bellend, but he's right about the lack of experienced players to help the kids at arsenal
