its not the way to do it though realy bud lol
options to the best of my knowledge are as follows;
change alternator and bottom pulley for earlier style v-pulley (this is what i did)
or machine /trim down the ribbed pulley on the alternator to accomodate a 3 ribbed belt-bottom pulley will be okay jst have the belt on the inside of it
be a cowboy and use a sledge hammer
drop engine out and then cut and re weld inner chassis leg with a safe passage of clearence for pulley( but not really worth it is it lol)
in my honest opinion (there may be better ideas) the top one is the best, then the second one if your struggling to source bits or money is tight
again incase i get flamed for my ideas i want to say somebody on here will know better than me but thats my advice bud

there is a big differance with mine esin the multi v belt and chris astley mounts. iv prob got 5m max between alternator and the chassie leg. would it be the front engine mount or the rear mount throwing it off? plus if i am gonna replace bottom pullie do i want a twin single v?

I've got the same problem and TBH it's a toss up between trimming the alternator or melting the inner wing with a big bit of bar.
Looked into changin them all to single-V pulleys and was gonna come out at about £100, sack that.
How hard is it/how long does it take to get the alternator out of an XE corsa roughly?

its not that hard takin alternator out. just you will struggle accessin inner wing without droppin engine. i just won a single v pulley alternator on ebay for £1 made up lol. can i just swap the pulleys over on them or do i need swap whole alternator. as i know mine is in good working order.
