right my xbox is currently in germany getting the red ring fixed. so ive lent my mates xbox too play cod5. ive got my hard drive connected too my mates xbox so i can use all my saved games etc andf my live account. what i wanna know is if i do the update will it only display the new dashboard etc on my mates xbox with my hard drive plugged in? or dus the update get stored on the actual xbox?
ive tried declining the update but wont let me connect too xbox live with out this update. which means i cannot play cod online 
any help would be great.

you have to have the update to sign in, took mine between 5 and 10 mins to download
then half an hour to create "Me"

yer it dus, thought fuck it and downloaded it removed my harddrive and tried it and its load the new dash. oh well.  hope he dont mind
