i have garmin, i understand the tomtom software doesn't work with the onboard gps...

its been cracked recently alunj. garmin has been cracked a while

as for the tom tom the file is not there i think has anyone got access to download it then email it to me?

oh right? hmmm might look into getting that then, I use a tomtom as a standalone sat nav and find it easier to use than garmin if i'm honest

Heard reports of it being a bit slow compared to an external GPS reciever - how do you find it?

I didn't rate garmin tbh, it seemed rather slow at doing anything with the internal gps anyhow, now I've got the tomtom on my n95 and its brilliant in comparison.

Seems to work quite well on mine to be honest i used it the other day to go to a short drive. can't really fault it for a handy little bit of kit if i gfet lost walking about.

Hmmm, interesting. Heard reports of it being ok for walking as you don't move too quickly, but in the car it can be too slow to update meaning you miss turnings etc.

Might be a bit shit on the motorway

May give it a go and see - I just have the TomTom running off an external reciever which is great, except it has to work off the 12v socket all the time and I can't charge the phone....
