i have just got back from towing my car home as cambelt slipped on my sri 16valve i put new gsi head on it a cuple of months back and did cambelt but not tensioner and it came loose once soo we tightened the tensioner and it ran ran fine till today now its that loose i can pull of with finger i now reckon it proper fxxcked cos it slipped bout 5 teeth i will time it up and try startin it but reckon it bent a valve or two. guted has any1 got a 1.4xe or 1.6xe engine for sale near me ?

search through the classifieds, theres a few in there. Iirc Willay had a recon head for sale.

yeh might aswell try and time it to see if it runs, might be lucky,

did you not torque the tensioner to correct settings?

didnt talk it to setting no just tightened it fxxckin tight.

just timed it up and shes dead not a bit of compression. an 1 wanna buy a black corsa sri needs head??

unlucky, surely just buy another block 1.6 or 1.4 and will drop staight in?

Lesson to all.. ALWAYS replace the tensionser, they are a crap design and dont last very long.
