my car is up for mot at the end of the month, and ive not had the v5 yet,
do i need the whole v5 to get an mot or can i use the new owner slip that i have?

You dont even need that now as its all computerised now so they get all the info from just your reg

the only thing i've ever taken to the mot is the car... lol costs me about £36 iirc before any work

if the garage do the work thats needed if it fails they wont normally charge you a re-test fee

im getting it done at an rac test centre tommorow, only costing £25 with a voucher from the paper, i just know its going to fail on loads

As said, you just need the car
Garage I go to let you take the car away and do the work yourself and you get a free retest if you take it back within a week

It all depends where you get the MOT as for price, to actually do an MOT is cheap, they only need to cover cost of paper for the forms and the computer, around£10ish pound i think was the minimum charge.
