Been looking around, but have limited knowledge, My mate picked up an 37lg6000 the other day from Richersounds for 580 with brackets, seemed like the best deal from the looking we have done, as a newbie though would anyone know if there are better deals about?

Plasma or LCD?
Panasonic TH37PX80 can be had for £550 - very good plasma TV, not full HD but gets good reviews.
TX37LZD80 are about £600ish - LCD - full HD and again, got very good reviews. You wouldnt go far wrong with either of these TVs mate

Not sure, I don't get the difference, I thought plasmas were meant to be better but heard that lcdtvs are a sharper picture?
Will bare them 2 in mind though, cheers.
The contrast ratio on the lg6000 is 50,000:1, thats whats pushing me towards that, going to see what my mates is like once it is up and running but looked good in the shop.

Brand new 42" Plasmas were £350 on ebay last week. Guy said he'd have more in this week. Brand you've never heard of tho, but 1yrs warranty so who gives a shit. He's still got 32" ones at £250 in stock.

42" which he had - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300276104062&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=020
32" which he has - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/32-Agora-HD-Ready-LCD-Widescreen-TV_W0QQitemZ370116944679QQihZ024QQcategoryZ11071QQcmdZViewItem
I liked the look of the 42"'s because they were totally unbranded.

Brett I'd have that 32" one if it was more like £200-£215 delivered!

Then find a mate who works there, over xmas they get 15% discount rather then the usual 10%
